Do I actually need a coating?
Absolutely. Ceramic coatings are the perfect way to preserve your prestige, enthusiast or brand new car, and suit daily driven vehicles and weekend garage queens alike.
Can you apply ceramic coating to older vehicles?
Definitely. Older vehicles may require more preparation and paint surface refinement for the best results.
Where can you do the ceramic coating?
SQKY is fully mobile, servicing the greater Melbourne region. We require access to power and water at your property, and can bring shading equipment if needed.
What do you need from me on the day?
Access to power and water, enough space to work around the vehicle, and ideally a shaded/cool area if outdoors.
What if I don't have power or water connection?
You might like to consider using our SQKY Valet collection and drop-off service.
Can my ceramic coating be applied outside?
Yes. SQKY's GYEON professional-grade coatings are outdoor-application friendly.
Do I need a paint correction before coating?
Yes – a coating "locks in" the paint's current condition. Correction / refinement is what delivers the clarity and gloss before the coating is applied.
Will it make my car look glossier?
100% The biggest visual improvement comes from proper preparation and refinement of the paint surface, while our GYEON coatings have a high gloss finish.
Will a ceramic coating prevent scratches and stone chips?
While coatings can reduce light-wash marring and micro-scratches, it won't stop stone chips or deep scratches. Paint Protection Film (PPF) is the solution recommended for impact protection.
Do ceramic coatings stop water spots?
They help reduce bonding, but water spots can still occur. Proper drying and periodic decontamination are the best prevention.
Can you coat wheels, glass, and trim too?
We can! Optional add-ons include our CabinCoating, GlassShield, WheelShield and LeatherShield coatings.
Can you coat matte / satin paint or wraps?
Yes we can. These finishes require a specialised product and process, and we'll always assess first to ensure the correct approach.
Can I use automatic car washes after coating?
Avoid brush washes, they create swirls over time. Touchless wash is better if you must, but hand-washing with safe technique is often preferred.
When can I wash the car after it's coated?
We'll provide exact aftercare instructions, but generally you'll avoid washing during the initial curing window and avoid harsh chemicals early on.
What happens if it rains after application?
Ideally the car stays dry for the first 12-24 hours. If unexpected rain happens, contact SQKY and we'll advise the best next step.
What's the warranty process?
SQKY can handle warranty claims on your behalf. The manufacturer may request evidence of property maintenance history to approve a claim.
